Who is Daniel Eriksson ?

My complete name is Daniel Andreas Eriksson and I study Computer Science and Technology at Lund University. In my free-time I spend a lot of time with my music. Previously I played the 1st trombone in 'Round Midnight Big Band and dito in Jesperspexet. I also play the trombone in BitTired a band which has played on various occations at Lund Institute of Technology. Last summer (or spring) a new band formed in my home town Markaryd called Macho Hasses Small Band. There I play the trombone (as usual) and various other sounding things ;-)
Recently I have been playing a lot of soprano-saxophone where I get my inspiration from Kenny G amongst others.

This is me (or more accuratly it's an image of me)

I also play the trombone in Markaryds Blåsorkester (marching band) and in Markaryds Storband (big band) (both are currently lying on ice due to the sparse interrest in Markaryd). Previously (?-1995) I played the keyboard in a band called 4 Below but that became impossible when all the members moved to different parts of Sweden, the band still exists but I'm not quite sure of the composition.
Recently me and my girlfriend joined Hässleholms Stadsmusikkår (marching band of the city Hässleholm).

I play this beautiful instrument

By the way this particular trombone is a computer rendered model!

You can find the trombone-image above and a lot of trombonists at the Trombone Page of the World There is a really cool animation of the trombone above here! (115Kb)

I originally come from Markaryd in Småland, Sweden (this link goes to the Markaryd Community and their page sucks!). I don't like the coummunity officials in Markaryd because they want to shut down the public Music School. And that's because they didn't have control of their taxes, suddenly 30 million kronor was missing (!?). The Music School had nothing to do with that itself, but since it isn't a necessary institution it has to suffer :-(

Amiga, the ultimate machine!

What would the world be like if there wasn't the Amiga ?
-Dull and full of PC's!

Now, the world IS full of PC's :-|, but it isn't quite that dull as it could be :-)

All the graphics in this page are created using the Amiga!. Mostly using the terrific raytracer Imagine and the great programs ImageFX and Photogenics.
My Amiga configuration is currently A1200/BPPC-240MHz/060-50MHz/BVisionPPC/66Mb/OS3.1/3.0Gb/32xCD-ROM/SCSI-II/HyperCOM
I have got a ZIP-drive too. Everything is fitted in an old PC-box (not tower). I have an 17" Acer 78c to go with it all.

I'm currently developing a music-composer system that I hope will revolutionize the Amiga music scene. The system is only in the initial planning state and the progress of the project will be displayed on this page later on!
The latest developement on the composer system is that the developement is up and running again after a ten month long pause. This is because my country wanted me to do military service. Now when that is over I'll work hard on the making of quality software.
I will eventually create another page about only the composer system (I've got to find a working name for it) and you will find a link to it here.

Music
Life wouldn't be worth living without it!

As said above I play the trombone alot. But I tend to try out as many other instruments that I can, just for the fun of it (except the accordion, I just hate it). I play (helpfully) the flute, the pan-flute, the guitar, the piano and this summer I'll try the saxophone if I can get a hold of one. My most up-to-date instrument besides the trombone is the piano. I especially like classical music by Beethoven, Chopin and Mozart.
My academic background concerning music isn't that dense but I am considering studying music-theory for a semester. I could really need the knowledge when designing the composer-system mentioned above in the Amiga-section.
